Terms of service.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before engaging in therapy services. By booking and attending a session, you agree to the following:
Scope of Services
All therapy sessions are provided by Samantha Chin, a PACFA-registered psychotherapist based in Australia.
Sessions are conducted online via secure video conferencing platforms.
Services are not crisis support and do not replace medical or psychiatric care.
Services are intended for individuals over aged 18, unless otherwise discussed.
Location & Jurisdiction
While I am based in Australia, I offer services to clients internationally.
It is your responsibility to ensure that accessing therapy from an overseas practitioner is allowed under the laws and regulations of your country or state.
All services provided are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, regardless of where you are located.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Your privacy and confidentiality are taken seriously. All sessions are confidential, in line with Australian privacy laws and the PACFA Code of Ethics.
There are exceptions to confidentiality, including risk of harm to self or others, or if required by law.
Sessions are not recorded without written consent. You are also expected not to record sessions without prior agreement.
For more on how your data is stored and managed, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
Booking & Cancellations
Appointments are booked online. Confirmation and links will be sent via email.
Cancellations or reschedules require 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged the full session fee.
If you are late to a session, the session will still end at the scheduled time and full fees apply.
Fees & Payment
Fees are displayed at the time of booking and may be subject to change.
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
Sessions are not eligible for Medicare or private health rebates unless you are located in Australia and meet eligibility criteria.
International clients are responsible for any currency conversion fees or bank charges.
Limitations of Online Therapy
Online therapy has limitations compared to in-person services, including technical disruptions, privacy concerns, or suitability for certain mental health issues.
If at any time your needs are beyond the scope of what I can provide, I will discuss appropriate referrals or support options with you.
Emergencies
I do not provide crisis support or emergency services.
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent mental health support, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your area.
Intellectual Property
All written content, resources, and materials shared with you during therapy or through this website remain the intellectual property of Samantha Chin.
These materials are for personal use only and may not be copied, distributed, or republished without permission.
Client Responsibility
You are responsible for attending sessions in a safe, private, and uninterrupted space.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Your openness, participation, and readiness are important to the work we do together.
Amendments
These terms may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in services, legal requirements, or policies.
Continued use of services after changes are published implies your acceptance of the revised terms.
